Plumbers and Plumbing Services in AbingdonAbingdon
Located on the River Thames, Abingdon in Oxfordshire is an old market town. Abingdon's Monday market was established before 1328, and in the 13th and 14th centuries the town was a flourishing agricultural centre which did an extensive trade in wool, famous for its weaving and clothing manufacture. Abingdon is best known as the home of MG Cars production (1929-1980). It also housed the Morland Brewery, whose most famous ale was Old Speckled Hen, named after an MG car. Greene King bought Morland for 182M in 1999 and the base was moved. Abingdon is renowned for its annual Michaelmas Hiring Fair and Runaway Fair, held a week later, with its custom of Bun Throwing from the roof of the magnificent 17th Century County Hall by the Mayor and Town Councillors to the people below. Other treats include the Morris Men and annual 'Mayor of Ock Street' elections. There are a number of well established plumbers in the Abingdon area who enjoy an enviable reputation.
