Plumbers can now install a new range of wood burning boilers, which will help customers save money, it has been announced.

The launch of the SHT Austria Biomass Boilers means that there is a new cheap way to heat up a home.

The boilers are matched up with the size of a home, the type of wood available and what type of heating system a customer wants to run.

One new model is the TDA Thermodual, which runs off wooden logs and pellets. The boiler can be fired up manually using logs, and then switched over to a built in pellet store once the logs have been consumed. Automatic operation lasts for up to 36 hours, which equates to four to five days usage.

The system also runs with an automatic ignition. This means the pellets are ignitedand any wood in the log chamber is burnt. If extra heat is needed, the boiler can switch back to burning pellets.

Central heating with split logs only releases the quantity of CO2 that the tree removed from the atmosphere as it grew, so families can reduce CO2 emissions as well as save money.
